Jon K. Swanson has been a partner in the Gaudineer & Comito, L.L.P. law firm and its predecessors since 1985. Mr. Swanson was born in Des Moines, Iowa on September 3, 1954. He received his preparatory education at the University of South Dakota, graduating with a B.S. degree, cum laude, in 1976. He received his legal education from the University of Iowa College of Law, where he earned his J.D. degree with distinction in 1979.
Mr. Swanson was admitted to the Iowa bar in 1979. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Iowa, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Prior to joining the firm in 1982, Mr. Swanson served as an Iowa Assistant Attorney General, in the Tort Claims Division, from 1979 to 1982. He is a member of the Polk County Iowa State and American Bar Associations, the Iowa Defense Counsel Association, the Defense Research Institute and the Iowa Association of Workers' Compensation Lawyers.
Mr. Swanson's practice includes civil and administrative litigation.
